Word Finds

Many people believe that find-a-words may be a bit of a waste of time in the classroom.

During my full-time teaching years, I found that all age groups enjoyed them.

Their usefulness is based on how the experienced teachers uses them.

Some ideas:

1) My Find-a words include a definition section at the bottom. This could be an in-class activity or for homework. 

2) Use in a Friday period 6 class for fun. Challenge them to see who can find all the words first in the last 10 minutes of the lesson. Give a 1 minute early mark to the winner!

3) Challenge students to use the words in the word finds in appropriate full sentences.
